If Hillary Clinton wins in 2008

And
Bill Clinton is 'appointed' to fill her Senate Seat
And
Either live to retire 'they' (together or alone)
Would get....

Two US Presidential retirement checks,
Two US Senate retirement Checks,
And
A retirement check from the State of Arkansas.

About the only thing they MIGHT NOT get is...
A Social Security Check....
But I wouldn't bet on it....

I understand ole Bill has earned
$40,000,000 in the past six years.
What a guy!

AND THE REST OF THE STORY...

Hilarious Rotten Clinton,
As a New York State Senator,
Now comes under the
'Congressional Retirement and Staffing Plan,'
Which means that even if she never gets re-elected,
She STILL receives her Congressional salary until she dies.
(Would it not be nice if all Americans
Were pension eligible after only 4 years?)

If Bill outlives her,
He then inherits HER salary until HE dies.
He is already getting his Presidential salary until he dies.

If Hillary outlives Bill,
She also gets HIS salary until she dies.

Guess who pays for that?

It's common knowledge that in order for her
To establish NY residency,
They purchased a million dollar-plus house
In upscale Chappaqua, New York .

Makes sense!

They are entitled to Secret Service protection for life.

Still makes sense.

Here is where it becomes interesting.

Their mortgage payments hover at around
$10,000 per month.

BUT, an extra residence 'had' to be built
Within the acreage to house
The Secret Service agents.

The Clinton's charge
The Federal government $10,000 monthly rent
For the use of that extra residence,
Which is about equal to their mortgage payment.

This means that we,
The taxpayers,

Are paying the Clinton's
Salary,
Mortgage,
Transportation,
Safety and security,

As well as the salaries
For their 12 man staff
-- and,
This is all perfectly legal!

It's no surprise that Billary will never starve. Also no surprise about the social security checks. No one in Congress has to worry about social security. That's why they have no problem dipping into it whenever it suits them. It also explains why they bucked so hard when Bush came up with a plan to overhaul it.

Oddly I don't feel outraged, he is the president (was) after all, chosen by tens of millions of people, worked "hard" 24/7 and, well, I think he did a satisfactory job, compare his government spending with that of Bush, how many Bills and Hillaries can we keep on super sallaries until we get up to the Iraq invation figures, probably around hundred thousand or so, don'thave the exact figures, they are easy to track down.
What makes me mad is when companies and funds and banks pay the CEOs who put the bank into bankruptcy or almost 40 or 50 million dollars resigning bonus when they are fired, fired for doing an awful job and causing thousands of employees to lose their jobs, and when they have to stop providing coffee to employees to save money whilst they raise the bonuses to management by 30 million dollars, say. There is an endless supply of these types of figures, all the big investment banks, for instance, who fired their CEOs in the fall. The presidential sallary checks and congress dwarfs compared to these figures.
I think congress may have a pretty sweet deal and they're not connected with the average citizen and taht's a bit sad.
Bush also just vetoed the democratic plan to give more money to low income people but favors tax cuts for the wealthy, just see discussions this morning about the senate not passing a democratic bill to help combat the global slowdown.
I'm just saying this excess cuts across all political parties and lines and there's no point trying to convince people one or the other party is worse, I think they're both equally awful, but I do think people whohave been presidents should do pretty well out of it all financially, part of the job.

Bill put in years and years of hard work for this country and he will continue working for causes in and out of the US whether she is elected or not. he deserves a comfy retirement income. as a previous poster said, he was the president of the united states. Like another poster, I get angry over the C.E.Os who get the huge ridiculous retirement, severence packages, and/or plain old yearly bonuses in the tens of millions. That's x times what people make in their entire lifetime. now don't get me wrong, if you are running a multi national company, you deserve a fat pay check and a nice bonus and retirement etc. However, if you screw over your own company, then that should be reduced considerebly.
